Official "Whacker" or "Screwed Up Install" Thread

I don't know who this is or what the purpose is but this may be the biggest example of being a stem Whacker/impersonator I have ever seen. So many lights. He is the self proclaimed "light master" lol what a nut!! :dielaugh:

I can't even fathom why any company makes a full white/clear interior bar... seems very useless to me. And based on the fact that everything to the front is clear and the rear looks like clear and amber I'd say they have no affiliation with any official public safety agency.

It also pisses me off that people like this exist when there are real people involved in public safety who can't afford quality equipment.

Looks like its 4 dual talons across the front a dual in the center singles in the corners a d8 in the grill and strobes. This is just ridiculous. What is the point of spending all that money just to mess with people. AND he's got a siren in there.

At least he went with a name brand....

Also, did anyone else notice he only had a corner strobe on the driver's side and not the passenger side as well?

Holy christ, this is just ridiculous. I cannot begin to put into words how this vehicle makes me feel, I think this is a great time to use smileys to describe my true feelings

:bonk: :hopeless:    :sadcry: :nono: :weird: :duh:    :suicide: :suicide: :suicide:

Some southern states only allow white for vollies. Doesn't make much sense, but then again neither does the whole blue for law enforcement red for everyone else. Not as silly-stupid as New York's, but hey everyone needs a whipping boy - then again the northeast already has New Jersey.

I've never heard of any state allowing only white for vollies... do you have any additional information about this? And IMHO reserving blue for LEOs and red for FD/EMS works pretty well for us.

Which states? You are going to need to back that up with a state law..... it is true that volunteers are forced to use "unregulated colors" on their POVs in some states...including white/clear.... but specifically requiring white I have never seen nor heard of.

Skip to 10:00 in the video. Saw this whacker on a local cable channel recently as I was channel surfing one morning. Black and white CVPI with push bumper, HLF, HAWS, and an amber Whelen Guardian minibar on the roof. For what group it's for, I don't really know, but I believe the HLF and HAWS are illegal in ND if it isn't a Class A emergency vehicle.

Oh, and after you are done observing the whackmobile, check out 0:06 to 1:03, 6:21 to 7:28, and 15:51 to 16:42 for the REAL emergency vehicles ;)

Maybe it's an Escort Vehicle? I see something on the "C" Pillar but can't make it out. That's my only guess, lol.

HAWs are OK, but HLF is questionable depending on interpretation and the officer. I would say no and cite.

Mmmm... yeah... Could be an old city car used for liaison or something else, people-mover like.

They wouldve left some of the emergency gear as it's used in specific events, yet removed the police-related markings.

It's really impossible to say, but I doubt it's private security, and I can see a use for such an old ride for a small town council.

Could this be a demo for a local one-man install outfit ?

This is why I have a job. Customer said his 9m bar acted up occasionally while at a scene.

Yes, I see the problem. He only wrapped the wire around the eye six or seven times. To do it properly the wire needs to be wrapped at least 12 times. Then secured with a good quality painters tape. ;)

That is a horrible setup. Every light is split fail - unicolor with split patterns!

Seems Whacker-ific to me! Tell me he doesn't have a Federal Q mounted on that thing somewhere!? (Pay attention to the end)

It's installed under that hood lots of room for one. See too many wires in the A pillar running pretty soon "Hey what is that burning smell?"

And the Q is illegal to have. Ontario law reads that it is illegal to equip a vehicle with a siren unless authorized.

Good guess.... Another NYS guy here just opened a thread for a 2012 Silverado with a similar G/B front setup...
