I picked up a couple of older Whelen Edge and LED Liberty bars the other day. Tried hooking them up to a converter and would not work. Tried hooking them up to a car battery and battery charger with still no luck. Looking for suggestions.

Most Whelen lights require constant power to primary red wire + and the ground typically black. The other wires in the bundle are typically trigger wires for specific functions. Best advice is to try and pull a model number and lookup a wiring schematic, so you do not accidentally blow something up .

How many wires are there? Can we get some pics to try to help you decipher what steps to take

So as I said previously the Red/Black wires will energize the bar when connected to a power supply. Functions are triggered by applying voltage to the smaller bundle of wires individually to perform other functions. I think I have a YT video on a liberty bar I was working on.. try this..

I would use the video as a reference, I do talk about wiring colors and what they did during the video. However, with that in mind.. your light may not be wired the exact same way. Which is why I said find a wiring diagram for your specific model. For the rest, I will leave to the Whelen folks here.

Also, check the fuses. There are fuses for the Power Supply's, the relay matrix board options and for the board itself.
Have you opened up the bar??? be carful with the power supplys. They have ugly voltages running around inside. Wait 10 min. before messing around with them after powering it up.
