Recently we have noticed an uptick in more sophisticated attempts at scamming members. Common tactics that have been seen:
1. Asking members to switch to email communications via private message
2. Directing members to contact 'their friend' who has what item is being sought after; typically directing them to an email address
3. New members that are very clearly using A.I. to come up with responses to questions in the forums to build their post count and then PM members
4. Asking for payment via non-protected methods.
5. Sending screenshots from videos of lights found on YouTube, Facebook, etc.

Protect yourself when making any purchases by using a method like PayPal goods & services. Use the report function to make staff aware of any attempts to scam so we can block them.

The ONLY "Protected" method is Paypal via goods and services.
I try to watermark my images (when I remember to do so) cause of the scammers. My videos popup everywhere... usually long before I do.

Ask for pictures demonstrating proof of ownership..
