A while back, I got the urge to build a big freakin' bar. This project almost didn't happen, as emt0454 screwed me over, as it took him a month to mail the frame and when I finally got it, the frame was damaged beyond use of a full size bar. But, I found another frame locally and left my negative feedback for emt0454.
The bar I obtained was originally an 80" eight head Edge 9000 that was mounted on a 1987 Pierce Arrow. It had four corner strobes and four forward facing strobes, as well as a pair of rear flashers. Pic can be seen here:

Now, a few better pics of the bar before upgrade and one of it after internals were placed in it but without lenses:
Front of the bar:
Rear of the bar:
...and new internals:
Now here's the bar in it's current state:
It consists of four red Freedom six over six corners, four 400 series six over six lightheads, four 400 series strobes with clear lenses in front of them and then a pair of 400 series halogen flashers to the rear with amber lenses. This bar has been designed to be placed on a fire apparatus. My thoughts on making this bar a combination of LED, strobe and halogen is as follows: red LED is extremely bright of LED colors and red in AR means
FD, clear strobes pop very well and are wired seperately from the LEDs, so when a parking brake is applied, they can be shut off while an apparatus is parked on scene and amber halogen flashers are still very effective, especially at a distance and are good to have to the rear of a fire apparatus.
Some lenses are brand new or in VERY good shape for being used, what I would consider a 9 or 9.5 out of 10. Only lenses that aren't very pristine are the ones in the rear of the bar that have no lightheads behind them. They were buffed and polished a bit to make them more representable, but I didn't sink too much time into them due to the face they wouldn't have lights behind them.
Internals consist of a Whelen 9M4S strobe power supply that came from a mini Edge, to include the lamp cord, making hook up to a relay from the parking brake a bit easier. The LEDs are run from a ULF44. The halogen flashers are run from a
SOS grille/deck flasher solid state flasher.
The best thing I like about this bar is it's already sold! I sold a package deal to my buddy who runs a fire apparatus sales and service shop. He's upgrading a former engine of GRFD's into a loaner engine if a
FD needs it while he works on their front line engine. Aside from the bar, he's also getting a pair of 900 series super linear LEDs, one red and one white, that will replace some 7" incandescent flashers. Pretty good upgrade
IMO.
