Fulton County Sheriff 2014 Dodge Charger

The red on black scheme definitely has an aggressive tone IMO (which is good), but I think blue/white over black would look better. This is the first LE agency that I've seen with blue to the front; while I've seen some fire depts put blue up front, I have not yet seen a non-federal SO/PD agency do this in NY. Although I don't think ppl will bother them about it, I can tell you that the secret service did say something to my college's police chief a few years back b/c she had forward-facing blue (1 of the grill lights was blue) on the dept-owned vehicle...i don't know exactly what was said, but that grill light was quickly swapped to red

The Sheriff in this county put out a letter several years ago to the volunteer Fire and EMS communities telling them that if they felt they needed more than one green or blue light to safely respond to emergencies, it would be OK by him. This is the same Sheriff that went on record nationally urging local pistol permit holders not to renew early under the provisions of New York State's horribly misguided SAFE Act. The video of his speech went viral for a while.

So a little blue to the front on his patrol units is what it is. Actually, I like living here.

The SS has no authority over civilian LE, especially lighting violations. They certainly have zero authority over a Sheriff or his deputies.

Of course, this is NY, where up is down, so......
