A) I can't stand marked slicktops, esp for fire/EMS applications

B) those chevrons look like crap; they're supposed to be bright colors so that they attract your attention at day & night (not look like zebra stripes)

C) the howler & the rumbler are 2 separate products

D) rear lights are a mess

E) i give it a few months before someone smashes or runs into those corner-mounted cannons

That screenshot preview of the video is hysterical; that guy looks like a huge retard

All of this, I second. ^^^^^^^^^

:duh:

"Intersections is a problem for them" So we make it a slicktop? It a PA vehicle. Too many white lights to the front. Under PA law, only three front facing white lights.

I like how the camera man shows us the sun. You know, just in case we all forgot what it looks like...

A) Customer request.

B) Graphics were done elsewhere

C) Yep. Obviously it was misspoken.

D) I respect your opinion.

A screenshot of a video is a screenshot of a video. I'm not quite sure why you feel the need to call someone you know nothing of, a "retard" based on a screenshot..."brother."

And to address the comment of syncing all the lights together, they are synched. Not every product by the same manufacturer can be synced together. The cannons are synced in the rear, and the dual T6s are synced in the rear.

1.) What is up with that "twinkle-twinkle little star" pattern on the Cobra 600? That has to be one of the worst pattern Feniex came up with. It would provide far better warning if it was a 1/2-1/2 split either slow or fast. Same thing applies for the Pegasus in the windshield.

2.) That flashing of one T6 on either side of the plate then the other is horrible. Flashing them in pairs, even if one side is red and the other amber would be better than as is.

Agree. It doesn't look like a whole lot of thought was put into the lighting; more along the thought of "find a hole ad throw a lighthead in there."

Yes, it is possible. Stay away from split light heads. Feniex does special orders all the time. On the Cobra sticks, have it wired to two outputs (half left/half right) set to steady burn and use an external flasher to sync everything, no matter what the manufacturer of the light is. Steady burn is your friend and so are large footprints of light instead of twinkling light...just a thought...

Thanks for the input. We've used external flashers on many jobs, however some customers ultimately don't want everything synched together. For some odd reason, many enjoy the twinkling lights. In fact, I would say 98% of all Police/Fire/EMS cars in the area, not all done by us, are the same way. It's interesting. Also, a majority of local ordinances set Red/White lights to a limit, but most other lights are solid. Synching a red/white split to a solid color looks ehhh.

In reference to the rear cannons on the bumper, the customer wanted it placed there for extra lighting out the back in line with the bumper. That wasn't our preferred installation light or spot, but ultimately they get what they want.

A slick top EMS vehicle is just counterintuitive. There is only one circumstance in which it would make sense to have a slick top EMS or fire vehicle and that's if a clearance issue exists. For example if there are a lot of low clearance underground or aboveground parking structures in the area. Otherwise it's just a bad idea which increases response times due to the extra time it takes to clear an intersection.

In regards to the up fitter 911 rapid response if they started ignoring customers instructions they'd go out of business pretty quick. You can provide the customer with advice pointing out faults and or oversights in their lighting choices and suggest alternate ideas. Ultimately the customer wants what the customer wants. Think of it this way if your department has a hideous uniform is it the uniform manufacturers fault or the A hole from your department that chose the pink shirt with purple pockets and epaulets matched with bright orange pants that feature a thick royal blue stripe down the leg.

Based solely on the video the installation itself looks like quality work. If I didn't live on the other side of the country I would consider having them do my up fit. if for no other reason than I really dig their MDT / MDC setup and installation.
