Hello all,
I am looking towards getting some grants to go to my volunteer department. One of the things I would like to invest in is a training tower in which we could do live fire, search, etc. I've seen some departments building their training facilities using shipping containers, and I'm looking for some first hand information on this topic.
So, the questions would be; Who here is on a department, career or volunteer, who has built a training facility using these containers? How has this facility been received by the membership? Does it fit the needs of training? Pros? Cons? Is it holding up to the the usage and other variables that can be presented? What sizes of containers did you use? Finished specs? Prices of containers? Finished price once built? Any other comment, concerns, recommendations you may have?
Also, any other grant ideas would be awesome. We are not critically strapped for cash like so many volunteer departments across the country, we usually buy 3 sets of bunker gear a year, keep maintenance up, etc. Just looking for some good ideas from others outside our department.
All help is appreciated,
Jeremy
