I am curious to hear what others here think on this; Should a traffic advisor being mounted high (think of a rooftop lightbar or a high mounted interior bar) or low mounted (like the rear deck style bars you see on sedans like the FPIS).
Imo it depends on the vehicle. Car, truck, van or SUV. If not built into (or onto for older lights) I would try to keep it higher up on everything but a car.
Bingo. As high as possible to be seen by traffic approaching the EV/scene from the rear. I'm confounded by agencies that mount lightbars on the roof and then TAs on the rear deck. This sums it up. The higher it is, the more visible, the whole point of it is to move traffic away from your unit
Yeah, seems like a bit of a waste of money. Unless they configure one to do warning and the other for traffic advisory, but that seems a bit useless now that Whelen Core and such can (if a bar is DUO spec) can display amber traffic advisory, then quickly switch to red/blue or whatever warning colors to signify that it's a police/fire vehicle, then back to traffic advisor modes.Bingo. As high as possible to be seen by traffic approaching the EV/scene from the rear. I'm confounded by agencies that mount lightbars on the roof and then TAs on the rear deck.
