Had this beast for a couple years now and just getting around to some mods. Plans to upgrade the road lighting (STT, headlights, reverse, turns), off road/work lights, underbody and of course some warning. Not that I'll be responding in this for anything (5-10 minute warm up, and top speed 55mph) but you never know. I posted a "light me up" thread here a while back.

Pic of the truck with door magnets (gotta love these old STEEL trucks)...

To get this started I added some magnet mount cargo bed lights. Old man was cleaning out his garage and found a 6 pack of NIB cargo lights he never used and gave em to me. I took the 12v bulbs out and picked up 6 10-30volt LED bulbs from superbright LEDs, 3red, 3white. I thought the red would give a "night ops" feel/touch for car shows. Fabbed up some mounting plates with magnets, took a 50 cal ammo can and boom. The lights stick to the cover bows (again, gotta love old METAL trucks) and run off an 8AA battery pack for now. As a bonus I can take everything down and pack it in the ammo can for use in another dark space (probably the M101A2 trailer I'm working on). I also have the option to direct wire to the truck electrical with out frying the bulbs, just gotta find the time to run it. Pics.....

I've also found a multi purpose solution to the warning dilemma. I found some rechargeable LED "road flares" that have several flash patterns (I'm sure y'all saw my JDI spoof thread).
They suck in daylight, but do pretty well at night.
I can use them as hey don't hit me lights, cab interior lights, or mock warning in a pinch.
Since they steady burn I can stick one in strategic places on the body for a "neons" effect at car shows. It's by no means DOT approved emergency warning for sure. It's a temporary solution.

A 6 pack of these babies all fit in a 50cal ammo can (with charging gear) so I can recharge on the fly (USB, 12v ciggie, or 120v).
