For Sale: Vintage Red/blue split jelly jar light (Glass)

There is no manufacture name. There is an "AP 3863" molded into the top of the glass. I have no idea where it came from originally.

Please see pictures. This is an odd-ball item since I have never seen a split color one before. I would like to get $50 + shipping for it.

FYI,

That dome is to a Airport Runway Light AP3863.

Its a directional pavement mounted light used to mark a Taxiway or Runway's direction;
Blue = Right of Way; Red: Do Not Enter/Stop.

Some automotive targeted manufacturers like Griffin, Carpenter, Alpurlite, and Dietz did make splits for their "Bee Hive" and "Jelly Jar" lights. But you are correct, the above split was made for airport use.

Thanks for the additional pics Sir!

I'm a fan of Split-Domes and Jelly Jar styles,

One of my favorite collector light head are the Whelen VL-12s.

For Boats and Offroad applications (where space is at a premium, I used to like to run two pairs of Whelen VL12s set to two separate flash patterns with one being alternating and the other simultaneous, (almost like a full bar effect). It creates a nice warning pattern. The only downside to the UL Series is the heat build up/lack of dissipation in this small area light head.

I have a few UL/VL-12 R/B R/A split domes in storage, (Wife refuses to give up display real estate in the house..lol).

The domes were relatively inexpensive when you could order custom split-domes directly from Whelen.

If you use Facebook, please join my group:

I have 4 NOS UL12s in my museum, also for a possible project, 2 amber, and 2 green.
