Whelen Help with Whelen equipment transfer

I’ll try to keep this short… my department is purchasing six 2017 Ford Interceptor sedans and one 2017 Interceptor SUV from State Surplus. All are former Homeland Security vehicles, and all are outfitted the same with complete Whelen packages including roof-mounted bar, 4 grill lights, side and rear lights.

One sedan has had the CenCom Sapphire siren module and 18 button control box neatly unplugged and removed. The wiring remains. The plan is to remove the roof bar from the SUV and replace it with Whelen interior front and rear bars and utilize a WeCan HHS4200 siren module and CANCTL6 rotary knob controller (obtained together from an helpful, allied upfitter). We’re going to use the CenCom stuff removed from the SUV to replace the missing module and controller in the sedan.

My question is this: is there an easy way to utilize existing wiring from the CenCom Sapphire to wire the interior bars and all auxiliary lights from the SUV into the HHS4200? I have some basic skills, but have not had any experience with this type of setup, and funds are short to pay an upfitter to do it. I’ll have existing wiring from the CenCom that I can cut anywhere, and I have adequate wiring to connect the interior bars. The CenCom is currently mounted on a slide-out tray.

Thanks in advance!

Check out the install manuals for both the Sapphire and 4200 on Whelen's website. The systems are pretty similar.

If you just need simple relay switching, the 4200 is more than capable. If the lights are not WeCan then the 4200 is overkill; a 3200 would suffice.

Thank you for the response. We got the 4200 free, with the lights, and the donor indicated that they went together. I’m not sure if they’re WeCan or not. The lights don’t need to do anything fancy, just provide warning and “get-out-of-my-way” functionality.

I assume I’ll need all new plugs to plug into the 4200 box.
