Hi, I am buying a project bar, a 420 beacon mini bar. I have a brand new clear lens for it and I'm wondering if they make rotator filters in RED and BLUE or GREEN??

I don't know much about the 420, but I found that they are D-tech rotators. Anyone know if these are used in other Code 3 rotators that I can search for filters for??

What is the watt rating on a bulb?

Thanks guys!!!

An LP rotator looks like this:

An MX rotator looks like this:

A Freeform rotator looks like this:

You'll need the freeform rotator filters. They're backwards compatible with MX7000 rotators, as they have the large hole in the bottom center in addition to the offset holes on either edge.

If they are D-tech rotators you can't run a filter or colored dome. D-techs are only use the MX7000 type rotator. If you have D-tech rotators and are interested in selling/trading them, feel free to let me know. Depending on type, I might be interested.

They are not D-tech rotators. I just looked them up to see what they are.

I will have the bar tomorrow. I am pretty sure from the pictures they are the ones like the bottom above....the "freeform" rotators.

Do you have filters for those???

In your original post you stated you thought they were D-Tech rotators, thats why I brought it up.
I thought they were when I posted, but then I hit the googlers. Sorry. Just doing my research here.

But I guess I need the filters for the freeform reflectors with the offset screws on the sides.

Anyone???

Filters just snap on. If you're looking for filters how about start a wanted thread in the appropriate section :)

360 degree warning with another 60 degrees if the leds were in front of the rotators is "420" I think it was more.along the lines of inexperienced young male who made it look like."80085"

Here's another question......as I'm digging into this project.

Are there different bases? I'm seeing two types....mine has short "mounting posts" and the newer looks raised.

Will my parts work on the raised style (new base) and are the domes interchangeable. It looks like on the newer style base the rotator feet slides into one side and screws down on the other using only one screw.

It will be a sick sick world if not. Lol

Does anyone have a 420 beacon they can take a pic of? I need to see the wiring schematic of the wiring set up on the newer style like the one pictured. Where do the grounds go? It looks like this is all for the power.

Right. But where do they anchor to on the bar to connect them to the external wire? There is no block.
The negative power wire goes to one of the rotator bases, and a jumper (visible in your pic above) connects to the other rotator.

On the old bar there were two blocks....a positive on the rear and a negative on the front. On this bar, there is one "block" that has no separation between positive and negative. They are connected. I am sure they are for the main power to connect to, then the rotator assemblies clip to the remaining plugs, leaving one power tab remaining.

The two ground wires come off each rotator assembly, and go where? Are they just connected inside the bar somewhere to the main ground wire?

I dunno?

Your missing the grounding bar or my bar is newer..

This is in the diamond mirrors

There are two different style bases from what I can tell....the older style with short mounting studs and two wiring blocks....one for pos one for neg.

On the new style that accommodates the new LEDs and add ons there are longer mounting studs circular fins under the rotators and only one power block.

I'm looking for a pic of how this newer base is wired. It really must be that the grounds are just clipped together??

I think I'll just use my old base and try cleaning it up.

I think that should suffice. Gonna tear into it. I have different filters coming....red and blue filters and cylinders....and green filters.

Gonna dig into it tonight and finish it this weekend.

Got my new dome and base today! Very very impressed!! I wasn't expecting it to come with new mirrors installed and the dome screws, as it wasn't advertised as part of the sale!!

Looks great, there are more on ebay if anyone is looking for a new shell......27.00 bucks!!! And it got here in a few days.

I don't know how many more are left.
