Does anyone know if there would have been any type of preemption device (opticom) in 76? Also, what types of grille lights would one have found on a police vehicle in 76?
Around here, grille lights in the 1970's were pretty much all single sided universal turn signals similar to these, but usually with gray or black housings.
These were also popular around here when police departments began putting lights on the package shelf of their patrol cars.
Georgia State Patrol had the pedestal turn signals mounted on the rear of their roofs. Some Ohio State Patrol units in the early part of that era were slicktops and had them mounted on the rear of the hood as their forward waring.
Alot of Agencies in WV. had the lollipops in the rear shelf and on the bumper in the 70-80s .Actually had 4 mounted on a crossbar with a signal stat beacon on my squad before I put a Twinsonic on it.
