Hello all. This light is a recent addition to my fireball collection. It is an early version, very rare, factory split amber/red lens. Research indicates this configuration was offered in the 1960's for just a few years. This was to comply with a requirement of some states for amber front, red rear lighting for service vehicles (tow trucks, highway vehicles, snow plows). It also has additional electronics attached to the power cord connection for the motor. Typically this is for electric noise suppression generated by the light's motor, as radios( two way) of that time period would not filter out that type of noise well.
A big thanks to Dan(dmathieu) for working with me to aquire this rare and extremely clean condition piece for my collection. It will be displayed with my other federal split dome fire ball, which is in the last picture.
