whelen 700 5mm led repair

I have two Whelen 700 light heads both have several leds out and was looking if they can be repaired. depending on cost.

By some stroke of luck, are they less than five years old? If so, they can be returned to Whelen for free repair or replacement.


Otherwise, I believe that these are potted (that black stuff that the LEDs are sunk in) which, for all practical purposes, makes them completely unserviceable.

If they are out of warranty and not potted I may be willing to take a crack at them.

They where made in 2004 so warranty is out and they do have that black plastic all around the LEDs. Well thanks for the help
