im looking for a good quality led flashlight something that will stand up to abuse and is bright ! Price isn't too much of a issue I know something good is going to be pricy just hope it doesn't break the bank ! Jhook

I'm a Streamlight fan. I've got the Strion LED rechargable @ 260 Lumens and the ProTac HL3 1100 Lumens. Both have held up very well to repeated abuse.
You'll get better suggestions if you define what you want to use it for. There are a lot of variables such as the brightness you're looking for/need, the distance you want the light to throw (beam focus), if you want features light adjustable light levels or ability to strobe, if you want one-handed operation or don't mind twisting end caps or whatever to engage different features, etc.
I'm posting the question for my son! He's a long haul trucker and would require vehicle charging, adjustable power and beam,something that will withstand continuous road vibration
(he's thinking that's what's killing the previous lights he's bought) he's probably spent a couple three hundred bucks on flashlights in the last couple years said he's tired of turning it on and having it quit halfway around the truck or having to beat on it to get it to come on !
Time to spend some money on something good that will last!

Alrighty, then. My brother drives truck and he asked for the Nebo 6156 flashlight for Christmas. It's got a 250 lumen flashlight and a 190 lumen work light plus there's a magnet in the endcap so you can stick it on the truck or trailer if needed. He says it's working great for him. It uses 4 AAA batteries, but he could get rechargeables and a 12v charger for the truck so he's always got power.

I'll second the Streamlight series. I have 3 Scorpion X's....truck, nightstand, go bag. 4AA Propolymax on my bunker bag, and a Polytac on my helmet. If he wants rechargeable I would recommend a poly stinger, knucklehead, or survivor lines.
hard to go wrong with Streamlight. I have two Protac HL3's WICKED bright. butthey eat batteries (CR123) like candy.

Apparently hexbright is no longer produced... which sucks, it was and is an awesome light.
I'd take a look on candlepowerforums.. they are the authority on non warning illumination products.

Been my EDC for 2 years now. Its very bright (1000 lumens) and survived lots of abuse. Even used it as a headlight when mine failed on a sketchy unpaved mountain road a few weeks ago.

Another testament here for Streamlight. Got 2 LED Survivor 4AA(you know, the ones that are orange or yellow always strapped on the front of a firefighters coat)and an LED ProTac 2AA. All 3 have regular AA batteries inside which can be bought anywhere. The beam on the Survivors will shoot a city block plus and blind anybody between you and there. Great lights with clips on the back. I wouldn't have anything else.
I wear a streamlight strion on my pants every day. Couldn't count how many times I've dropped it, and it's still going good! Pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty, too. My battery stopped keeping a charge as long and my dealer replaced it for a nominal fee. Vehicle charger is available, and it's even designed to be kept in the charger without harming it or the battery
Jetbeam RRT2. They are made in China but the three I have taken to combat held up under massive amounts of abuse. I use them here in the states for EMS/FD work now.
