Came across this video

What I found interesting is the F150s don’t use the Chetah Straps but I can’t figure out what they are using. It almost looks like magnets but that shouldn’t work with the aluminum body.

If anyone knows I would be curious as to what the solution is.

I'd bet it's permanent mount (holes drilled). Or maybe the cabins of the F150s are steel? Idk, I've never worked on one of the aluminum body ones.

Would look nice with a criuse light equiped Rota-Beam Senior up there.

They've been doing this vehicle arrangement for decades, it wasn't limited to police package vehicles

They don't have the 23's on this yet but when they do there will be a special note if they have to drill through the roof to mount the light.

Interesting read, thanks for the info. I just came across this new product from Ecco/Code 3. Perhaps they are using something like this.

Looks like an interesting item, but a 1 year warranty for a basic piece of metal? They must be very proud of their product.

Haha no kidding. I’m not sold on using it for a full size lightbar as they claim.
