Thoughts? I watched the unveiling and it seems gimmicky to me. My understanding is that only authorized dealers can program the color upgrades, which I do not like. The Quad release a few years ago was supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Buy lighting items with all the colors...

only pay for the colors you need... (until some kid hacks the software and opens it up)..

real progressive..

apparently my page didnt refresh to see adams post so thanks to whoever moved it..

seems like an innovative rip off..

I think it is just a gimmick and not useful.

Here is their webpage for those wanting to learn more about it... locked down by Feniex and only a dealer can unlock things... no thanks. Also, check out some of their replies to comments on the YouTube video....

Yea, I go through a Feniex distributor to buy all the product I sell. I get a better deal from the distributor than if I were a lower level Feneix dealer. Anyways if I cannot get access to the software and have to have an authorized dealer program everything that is not convenient. Its almost like they are reverting backwards to pre-internet days when you had to go through authorized distributors. In the era of buy anything anytime online I do not see this as positive direction.

Doesn't really matter to me, I sell almost exclusively Whelen now and have never been happier. I gave up on Feniex in 2021 when their quality and customer service tanked.

This is the very first thing I thought... He said they have encryption and blaablaablaa on the software and in the bars themselves...but...without an internet connection...you can crack the end user unit.

My guess, if it's anything like...anything else really...it will be super easy....

The main goal with this product is to make it easier for the DEALERS, not the one off end user. It makes sense from that prospective. Public safety is notoriously fussy...for pennies over cost. This set up basically makes a bid super simple. Here's the bar, here's the price, here's all that we can do with it. Lead time is one day.

So you're still buying a 4 color bar...they just lock out colors and charge you less? Guess they just revealed what a quad bar actually costs to manufacture, plus retail profit of course.

Good luck with that Feniex...

so if you have a tri color bar and need to upgrade due to a promotion etc does it cost more to unlock the 4th color that is still just 3? lol

This isn't a difficult concept or even a new one.

You know that two way radio you use? There are all kinds of things that it CAN do, but does not unless you pay THOUSANDS more...for a keystroke.

If nobody told you, you would never know. I really am astonished at how many people are having such a hard time with this. It's kind of funny to watch.

Just seems more to me like a solution trying to find a problem. With all the other issues or things Feniex could be worrying about they chose to do this.

Wait, what?? Nobody with emergency lighting could possibly have the knowledge to hack an MCU to get access to all 4 colors.

A sensible decision by Feniex to remove the 60 day patterns lock in version 2 of the software. Colours going forward from today still get locked which makes sense from a Denied business choice.

Just wondering if Feniex dealers are finding the quantum line a success for their business? It's been a live product line for a number of months so interested in feedback as to whether you see this as a revenue generating success?
